FTA Brings Christmas to Childrcn's Home Learning about the opportunities in teaching, cultivating the qualities essential in a good teacher, and fostering the development of student leader- ship, are the basic purposes of the Future Teachers of America. During this year many activities were provided in order to accomplish these purposes. The teacher assistant program was one of these activities. It allowed interested students to gain credit points and experience by aiding a teacher in the subject of their choice. Some of their duties were giving quizzes, correcting tests, presenting lessons to the class, and helping individual students. Other activities included donut sales, a Christmas Party for the Children's Convalescent Home, and a trip to the University of Wisconsin at Madison. E FTA oificers Nancy Palm, treasurer, Dave Calvert, president, and is A J! Margie Faeth, secretary, review the club's plans at a tea given by P' Q the Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
