Nancy Shepherd, President, hands her means of controlling the crowded gym to Barb Girling, '67, as Mary Cibelius, '68, calls Pew.. Pep Club balloons are released during half time of a football game. to a friend across the room. Since Pep Club began this year at Guilford, not only was a new attendance record of 410 set, but the number of activities also increased. Balloons were sold at most of the major home football games, and for both foot- ball and basketball games, members painted posters and learned cheers to instill enthusiasm in the student body. A dance following the basketball tip-off was co- sponsored by G.A.A. and Pep Club. Pep Club president Nancy Shepherd stated that, All the officers had fun planning these activities, and they feel that it has been a very successful year.

Scientists earn about aser Guilford Science Club is composed of stu- dents interested in all phases of science. The club is divided into four special interest groups: biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. The high points ofthe year were two special lecturesg one on the laser beam and the other on the physiology of speech. The purpose of the club is to stimulate work on projects and research papers.
