Susan Belk • editor Jim Trollinger - business manager a time of transition as confronted by new ideas, diversified personalities, and unfamiliar situations. some progress neither intellectually nor spiritually, several stop to ask what it all means, and a few sincerely try to find the answers. too easy to fall into a rut involving tests . . . cramming , . . tests and pressure to make those grades, a time when learning, evaluating, and interpreting become meaningless words. TIME OF TRANSITION of Enrichment 10 of Instruction 32 of Fulfillment 72 of Action 118 of Fellowship 154 i %m Br l g ' ■ ' ' ' p.:V- 4HP ■ —  - fV ' % - ' % • .. ♦ ' :« but our encounters here become a part of us, not to be pushed aside or deemed unimportant: the joy experienced through involved study when learning supplants memorization; the rewarding relationships developed between faculty and students when an exchange of ideas takes place and the professor becomes friend as well as teacher, when we realize and accept our responsibility to the professor and to ourselves rather than blaming him for our own shortcomings and indolence; the intimate friendships formed through athletic participation, through dating, and through dorm life; the wonderful experience of having at least one friend with whom no barriers exist and no pretensions are made. all of these relationships are a part of our transition, a part of our searching when we open our eyes and examine, unafraid to see, unafraid to feel. a realization of the importance of a goal that incorporates all of one ' s being and around which all is directed, a goal demanding that one strive to reach his highest potentials through a continuing growth and transition. ■ ' •■ ■■ .V A TIME OF ENRICHMENT mw STUDENT GOVERNMENT Student Legislature will meet Monday night in . . . the central organ of Student Government. campaigning last spring for a chance to carry out the Forward Look necessitating strong subsidiary committees for such as orientation, elections, letters, and traffic tickets for one and all. campus organizations required to submit constitutions for approval in effort to strengthen clubs or to dispense with those existing in name only. as link between administration and students, needs accessibility to administrative officials willing to accept new and valid suggestions without repeating outdated answers. realization of a failure to mobilize students behind the concept of a student government unified in their behalf as strive to make the theoretical an actuality. Saturday morning. building Fort Stewart in Hobb ' s back-yard, watching the sun rise while sleepily setting up floats and decorations, then yawning and dozing during classes which must go on.
