.JUxMOR C:r..VSS OFFICIERS: Charlif Stridr,-, l ,,.„l.„i- F.l Bn.un Vue- Presidenl: Emily Warrick, l,eauu,i. . oi shcun, Margaret VVuotcn, Sr.uUny. Blissfully unaware of all tlic trouhlcs and trials awaiting us in our college careers and thinking onlv of the happiness we expected, we entered Guilford College in September, 1952. Bill Gibson led us through a very successful fust year— a year in which a number of individual personalities became distinctive. Among these were Emily Warrick, who reigned as Homecoming Queen, and Peggy Wells, Queen of the Christmas Dance. On the football field, Bill Rogers won the awards for best blocker and best tackier. Charlie Strider as president of the Sophomore Class proved such a capable leader that we re-elected him lor the following year. The Sophomore year was high- lighted by the annual Freshmen-Sophomore picnic at the college lake. On entering oui third year, we became members of the elite, uppercla.ssmen onlv to find that our troubles were not over. Religion and history proved as dificult as well as interesting. We also found oin-.sclves faced with the difficult but satisfying problem of planning a sueci-.ssful Junior-Senior Banquet. With one more door to be opened, we look forward with great anticipation to our last challenging vcar. 29
