Driver Education Driver Education has been taught at Guilderland since 1954. Over 1000 high school pupils and adults have com- pleted the course. The objection of the popular course is to develop within all pupils the proper attitude necessary for safe and efficient driving. This year the Driver Education department is trying to help the individual face the challenge of learning how to drive and how to stay alive and happy. Mr. john T. Ryan Mr. Ronald Olin Driver Education Driver Education Special Education Mr. Rourke captures the attention of his class. Mr. Robert Rourke Special Education Throughout the school year, the spe- cial education pm- gram at Guilderland has provided for some new innovationsforiis students. With the co- operative planning of the Home Economics department and the Guidance oilice, the students have planned and maintained then' own kitchen area, and have developed and constructed a number of classroom furnish- ings. Also through. a program of ocaxpa- tional education, they have pardcipated in an actual work-study program within the school and .the com- munity. All of these things are trying to help the pupils to live a better life.

ill' Q. The Health Oihce is a peace- ful haven for too-hard-of-a-test and failed-to-do-homework stu- dents, and even some ill ones. Only one change has come over the oHice, and the students have not been known to complain about it. Mrs. Craw has replaced Mrs. Jenner as nurse this year, and although Mrs. Jenner is missed, Mrs. Craw has filled her place with ease. With the help of Miss Schmidt, onir dental hy- gienist, our teeth are kept clean and healthy, and she gives us ad- vice when needed.
