His friendliness and sense ofhumor make him a popular member of the admini- stration. Mr. Carlson came to G.C.H.S. in 1957 from Wakefield. Massachusetts, where he taught for six years. He taught history and math, and later became chairman ofthe math department, a po- sition he held from 1958 until 1961. ln 1960 he became assistant principal. He supervises attendance, discipline, trans- portation, maintenance, and adult edu- cation. Mr. Carlson received his A.B. and A.M. from Boston University, and his M.Ed. from the University of Massa- chusetts. High Qdww The mind ofthe wise man will know the time andthe way. Ecclesiastes 21195. llehind the stern facade presented by our principal lies a warm and sincere heart which explains why he remains a much- respected institution at Gnilderland. Before he became our high school principal in 1960, Mr. Ciaccio was department chairman of the Citizen Education department at Camden Central, Camden, New York, for three years. Mr. Ciaccio received his A.B. from llohart College and his M.A. from New York University. in order to receive his teacher and adrniriistrative certifies- tion, Mr. Ciaccio did extensive work at the Aram University at Albany.
