Class Flower Peppermint Carnation Class History On September of 1974 we began a long journey through our years of high school. We didn’t realize then that we would experience the greatest part of our lives. This part is made up of different pieces — pieces such as friendship, love, laughter, tears, fun, learning, hardships, and growing pains. The first step of our journey was our freshman year. Even though we were scared, we continued to strive for maturity and acceptance from upper classmates. There was such excitement when October rolled around, because we knew that it would be our first homecoming. We lost our football game but we won honorable men- tion with our float, and that was a good enough reason to keep up the good work. When 1975 arrived we had finally learned how to associate with people and what it meant to be a school community. Our sophomore year was the second step. Homecoming came in its usual way and now that more of us could date it meant much more. Also this was the year our float won 1 st place. The main attraction of our float was a bright colored rainbow, the moral of it all was that at the end of every rainbow there’s a pot of gold. That year there were more opportunites to socialize with our upper classmates such as the Valentine Dance, Sadie Hawkin dance, and the graduation dance. The third step was our junior year. The first event was the ordering of our senior rings. We experienced hard work. We worked at fund raising projects for our Junior Homecoming and Prom. There were many arguments over the setting of “It’s A Small World but it turned out to be a memorable night. Finally, we received our senior rings. And did we get in bad with the office. Over half of the class left on school time to get their rings, but it didn’t phase us one bit for we had “our rings. Next it was ring turning and ring partying time. Like every year we hated to see the upper classmen leave but we knew, in place of them, there was something wait- ing for us. The fourth and last step of our high school life was our senior year. This was the time of decision-making about what we would want to do the rest of our lives because we knew there is not a fifth step in high school. Candy was sold, pictures were taken, invitations were ordered, and the Bruin was being put together. Then came the leaving of mid-term graduates and it made us realize how short time is. When graduation came around, we knew it would be the last time we would be together as one and so we pray that everyone will find his purpose in life. As Seniors of 1978 we would like to say whatever is worth doing at all, is worth doing well. Thank you for EVERYTHING Gueydan High School. 26 £. zmoi Offi LC£Z± xzejzz------tSzcxztaxy, A [axi C=Hofff24X uix------ Q lce ±Cclsni, c f-ntfiony (ZJouc(i£t — zfioxt£X, amLz fJitzz — Lf z uUnt, HBzc y -JlsZJ X big, — Ux a,±uz£,x. cmoi anai 'oxannz JV{axy fjayU 'Qon.te.not mum inut' 1471V uovinqo.
