Text from Pages 1 - 160 of the 1966 volume:

Our School Flag We’ll be loyal to you, Gueydan High A show of appreciation goes to Mr. Dallas Abshire We pause ’mid the wonders of life and the magic of science, to bring forth on these pages the golden moments of time just past. It is our wish to walk again the paths of achievement, of fun, of sorrow, and of fond memories that this school has worn for us. Our school days are filled with cherished memories. Some are remembered better than others; such as: that rival game we wanted so much to win, the many class activities, the thrill of being a Senior, and the satisfaction of com- pleting another step to our lives. Here is our 1966 Bruin--designed to pre- serve for us through pictures the memories of I this year at G.H.S. Wilson LeJeune, Jr., Editor Polly Overley, Copy Editor Foreword HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING TEACHJ-O Alma Mater Our Alma Mater - Dearly praise. She is our guiding light. Her spirit we will keep always And colors red and white. For when at last our school days o'er And time goes fleeting by, We'll cherish her forever more Our dear old Gueydan High. WHOM THEN DO WE CALL EDUCATED? ‘‘First, those who control circumstances instead of being mastered by them; Those who meet all occasions manfully and act in accordance with intelligent thinking; Those who are honorable in all dealings, who treat good-naturedly persons and things that are disagreeable; And furthermore, those who hold their pleasure under control and are not overcome by misfortune; Finally, those who are not spoiled by success.” 10 MR.
