The Our 1965 Memory Book Bruin Volume 12 Published by Senior Class Gueydan High School Gueydan, Louisiana Foreword LINDA SARVER TIM TOUCHET Co-Editor Editor In our 1965 Bruin we have tried to capture the moments of the past school year that we will want to remember always. We, the seniors, are now at the crossroads and are challenged with many important deci- sions for our future. We must leave behind our principal and teachers, classmates and friends, joys and sor- rows, victories and defeats, and all the fun- filled moments we shared throughout high school. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our faithful staff who have made this book possible. To Miss Lucille--our deepest appreciation for her advice and guiding hand. If this edition will serve as a Memory Book” of our last fleeting days together, then this memory hallowed volume shall not have been in vain. Mr. Ed Baker It is with admiration that we. The Bruin Staff of 1965, dedicate this volume to you, Mr, Ed. Baker. It is but an humble effort to show our appreciation for the twenty years you served as our School Board member during the years from 1943 to 1963. We express our thanks to you for helping to improve and make ours a better and more outstanding school. ELEMENTARY BUILDING Alma Mater f y rr f ft ttt Our Alma Mater - Dearly praise. She is our guiding light. Her spirit we will keep always And colors red and white. For when at last our school days o'er And time goes fleeting by, We'll cherish her forever more Our dear old Gueydan High. FACULTY ROBERT W. LINSCOMBE Principal 901 MAIN ST. utydan, J2ou.ii.iana Did you ever think of your life as a building--a large, important building, that takes a lifetime to complete? If you were going to build a house, you would plan it carefully. And you should plan your life just as carefully, don’t you think? We all need to make the big, general plan and decide whether we’re going to be a doctor or driver, seamstress or salesman, teacher or preacher, electrician or technician, clerk or chemist. It is important to make such big over-all plans. Then make your detail plans—of your habits—your diet—your reading— your use of spare time—your interests—your associates—your other vocation”—your savings and investments. Each day of life is one detail of our big plan; we need to make each day count. Let’s make each day a perfect detail in our life s building by filling our spare time with worthwhile activities. Remember, every man is the architect of his own career. Plan your life and work your plan. Sincerely, MR. DALLAS ABSHIRE History; Civics; Physical Education: Gueydan High School; B. S. .
