Then this memory-hallowed volume shall not have been in vain. The Seniors of '55 ALMA MATER Out Alma Mater—dearly praise She is our guiding light. Her spirit we will keep always And colors red and white. GUEYDAN HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING u Ljdan cjHijfi Safioot T. L. BUSH, PRINCIPAL ( utycLan, Louisiana January 15, 1955 To the Students, Faculty and Friends of Gueydan High School, Greetings: It is a source of great satisfaction to look back over 20 years of work in a commu- nity that has always supported its school wholeheartedly. To this splendid community attitude is due a large part of the success of the school. Any institution is judged oy the quality of its graduates. At present our graduates are enrolled in a dozen institutions of higher learning and from recent reports are doing an excellent quality of work. We are proud of these former students and wish for them every measure of success. To the students who are still in high school, let me congratulate you for your cooperative spirit and your splendid attitude toward the entire school program. To the faculty, permit me to express my appreciation for your efforts to improve instruction and for your loyalty to all phases of school activities. We have a good school and with all pulling together we can continue to make progress and to reach new goals. Sincerely, SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE ULYSSE P. LeBLANC, president ERATH. LA. G. J. LEDET. SUPERINTENDENT ABBEVILLE, LA. HARRY SCHRIEFER, vice-president PERRY. LA. VERMILION PARISH SCHOOL BOARD ABBEVILLE, LOUISIANA December 17, 195U Students, Gueydan High School Gueydan, Louis iana Dear Friends: In the universal organization of matter and events, the arrangement provides for a balancing of the energy and en- thusiasm of youth on the one hand, and of sagacity and ex- perience of mature adulthood on the other. Because of this, man strives to make the best possible provisions for the training of the offspring who will succeed him. The providing of this training and education is largely the work of the school system. An excellent school system is provided for you in Gueydan. Let me recommend that you avail yourself of every facility and every provision of this system so that you may make maxi- mum gain from the research and the experience of those who have gone before you and in this manner make the best prepa- ration for your contribution to the community and to your country.
