- - 1 2-3-3+ - -------- -- 1 2 3-L+ - .......... --- 2-3 -.. -- -- -3.1, ------------- -2-3 - - .... -- --2-3 ------- - - ------- ---1-2 Cheerleader-- ----------- -- -2 - - M ------------------L HTo worry little and study less SENIOR CLASS HISTORY The class of '59 began their long journey through school in 19N7 under the guidance of Mrs Dieterich The class then consisted of LeRoy Jones, JoAnn Traut, Karen Kimm, Leo Norden, Vernon Slaymaker, and Marilyn Weisskopf When we became second graders in l9N8, Larry Hall and Anna Evans joined our class Mrs Dieterich was again our teacher Miss Merck greeted the l9k9 third graders That year Charlotte Murphy, Ronald Cordes, and Max Breniman joined our class Charlotte Murphy left at the end of the year In the fall of 1950 we began our fourth grade in school Miss Marion was our teacher Mrs Jacobs tutored us through fifth and sixth grades Gerald Hosier and Phyllis Leff jolned us in the fifth grade Gerald left us in the fifth grade and Max Freniman left in th sixth grade In 1953 we moved upstairs to the seventh grade Mrs Seye was our teacher Wilma Spake joined our ranks during that year and Phvllis Leff moved to Searsboro In the eighth grade we moved into the assembley We entered high school in the fall of 1055 The class then consisted of Anna Evans, Karen Kimm, Larry Hall, Leo Norden, Ronald Cordes, Wilma Spake, JoAnn Traut, and Violet Bayer who joined us at the beginning of our freshman year JoAnn Traut left us during our Sophomore year and Ronald Cordes left at he end of our Junior year So the graduating class of 1959 finished school with six happy faces, namely, Violet Bayer, Anna Evans, Larry Hall, Karen Kimm, Leo Norden and Wilma Spake SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY One summer day in July of 1969, the Junior Class of 1959, from Guernsey High School decided to have a Class Reunion and watch color television for entertainment The first program we viewed was Art L1nkletter's House Party When it was time for the four small school children to enter, who do you suppose Sgisihgpgggm in She was a former graduate from Guernsey, none other than The next program was a baseball game between the Yankees and the Braves About the fifth inning of play, the Yankees made a bad play and out came the He said that besides being manager o the Yankees, he also had a dog pound While we were watching television we heard a commotion out in the street It was a truck coming down the street and the driver happened to be VIOLET BAYER, another member of the class of '59 She was driving one of her hus band's trucks, as they own a large truck farm Among the frults and vegeta bles in the back of the truck were her four children We decided we would eat some of our fruits and vegetables for supper As soon as we had finished supper, it was time for the news We had ust turned the television on when the broadcaster announced that former President Eisenhower was ill He said that Mr Eisenhower's special nurse, KAREN KIMM, a 1959 graduate of Guernsey, stayed by his bedside The next news item told of a great college professor who had just made a new discovery The professor had graduated from a small high school in Iowa He then stated that the professor had graduated from Guernsey That made us sit on the the edge of our seats We then learned that the professor was LEO NORDEN, who had also graduated with the Class of 1959 After the news was over, we changed stations The show nThe Perfect Secretaryu came on Who do you suppose the secretary was, none other than Miss ANNA EVANS Anna was also a graduate of Guernsey in the Class of 1959 Bang! Oh, there goes a tube in our television Guess this will be the end of our day of watching T V We shook hands with all of our classmates and departed for home j O t manager, LAQQX HALL. After the game, the sports announcer interviewed Larry.
