In December when the basketball season opened, 19 girls came to offer their part to make up a bas- ket ball team. Our coach saw that some of the girls had left our gang. Our team won every game until we came to the tournament, but in the tournament we were defeated by the Manchester team, A The support received in each game was of the best, The first game was played at Morrison and each game following it was just as successful. , We are looking forward to seeing our future teams keep up the good records and progress by our ' mistakes. Haynes, Ella Frances fSisl-Forward--Did exception- ally well in the two Decherd games. Henley, Frances CShortyJ--Captain--Forward--Known for these foul shots, never misses. Jones, Betty Lynn CUJonesWJ--Forward--Has great skill as both forward and guard. Sanders, Tryda Mae CRedD--Guard--Sho can really g block those onemhanded shots, Meeks, Betty Sue CSudicJn-Center Guard--Outstanding for intercepting passes, Layne, Mary Cathleen QKatJv-Guard--She knows how to stay with her opponent, Kilby, Juanita CKilbyJ--Guard--She has eyes to watch every player, Henley, Elouise CBlondie7--Center Guard--Go-operw ation was her chief characteristic. Goodman, Dorace CGoodmanJ-eForward--She showed her stuff in the Hillsboro game, ' Howard R. Sitz, Phalda Throneberry, Lois Parsons, Frances Kilby, Allienc Nunley, Evelyn Tucker, Willodean Patterson, Juno Tate, and Betty D.
