i'g,2 f:5,'E'e,g ffsi' :A if V Q v- J HDR C On August 7, 1942, the present day Junior class numbering 62 entered Grundy High. We realized then that we had come a long way and many important things had happened since that memorable day in 1959, when We had entc ed aslfrcshmcn. Since August, 1942, the Junior class has been reduced to 47. Har- old Knight, Conway Ross, Frank Nunley and Edward Henley have joined the fighting ranks of our coun- try. Several of our students have decided that entering into Holy Matrimony is more important than a high school education. Here's hoping that our num- ber will not be further reduced before graduation. Juniors were offered the following courses: English, Spanish, history, economics, home econ- omies,5a5ricultur6,ebeokkeeping, typing, speech, shorthand, plane geometry, and chemistry. Harold Knight, Horace Moore, Bruce Speegle, Robert Vann Hoosier, Billy Carden, and James Tothe- row showed great possibil ties in foot-ball during the past season. Many of the same boys showed great interest in basketball also. Betty Lynn Jones, Ella Frances Haynes, Yvonne Pocus, and Frances Henley helped win many victories for the Grundy basketball girls, while Christine Abraham cheer leader, cheered them on to victory. The efficiency of the Junior boys and girls helped Grundy win many victories. One of the most weighty matters confronting the Junior class has been the problem of entertaining the Seniors. Suggestions were made but always there appeared the difficulty of getting tires and gas. Since this is one of the crucial moments in the life of our country and since everyone is doing his bit, we decided to be patriotic too, so we planned a hay ride--a real hay ride with horses and hay. We come to the close of this year with high expectations of being Grundy's best graduating class next year.
