William Gunn, known to us as Bill, delivered the sermon of the morn- ing. Ah---how deep is the mystery of life, for, as I remembered, Bill Gunn wasn't the sort to become a preacher. This peaceful scene faded from my eyes and I beheld a vaguely familiar figure dabbing away at a canvas with brushes and colors. It was Clarine Payne, new famous painter of nature sc- ones. My eyes now rested upon a sign saying nGea- ry's Garageu---Max Geary-Proprietor. This was not an altogether unfamiliar sight to my eyes as I vaguely remember another Gearys Garage when I went to Grundy Hi. The crystal ball cleared 'nd I beheld the smiling face of John Kenneth Myers o , I asked myself,Uis this a classmate of mine?W My question was not long unanswered, for I beheld the sign which read, Myers' Duck Farm This scene disappeared and I was looking at a busy city street The ball centered upon a theater nd I saw the sign advertising nRomeo and Julietn Imagine my surprise when I saw that two main players were James Ledbetter and Sarah Ellen Fults ' Nhat w-s this sight which next reached my eyes? Vhy, it was three girls gracefully doing ballet steps I immediately recognized them as being Martha Ann Arnold, Peggy Langley, and Mar gie Sue Nunley They were now famous ballet dan cers My next scene was that of a small corner drug store, whom should I see there? A af Rust was filling a very complicated prescripton for a customer The next scene which unfolded bef ore my eyes was very peculiar In fact, it was quite startling for I saw a newspaper headline which read, nMary Helen McFarland Sensational Lady wrestler to Meet Purple Horror tonightn It was quite astounding, thought I, remembering frail little Mary Helen but I thought of the old saying Utruth is stranger than fictionn and wait 2 .n a 15 a ' , R . ed for the next scene to appear. 2 Once again the misty ball cleared and I saw two scenes at once. One proved to be the interior of a coal mine. Inside, I saw Fairley Frederick busily digging coal. The character in the other scene proved to be Robert Harris--the Proprietor of a moving picture theater. Next my eye beheld Estell Garner and Mildred Killian, the inseparable duet as secretaries to two successful business men. who were these three attractive girls in uni- form? Why, they were Marie Barnes, Juanita Money- heffer, and Laura Ann White, members of the W A- A Cfs. The scene changed and I new saw Juanita Pat- rick and Carolyn Owen as female newspaper report- ers getting a scoop story for the morning news. I gazed deeper and saw Faye Moore as a beauty operator in a neat well equipped little shop. Just then a taxi cab stopped in front of Faye's door-and lol the taxi driver was none other than Sarah Ann Hobbs. Ah, what did I see next? Why it was Orin Crouch, familarly known as Pee-Wee, and what should he be but a graveyard Night-Watchman? I , saw the ball grow very misty and I knew my intern. view was over but I sat there for a long time ' thinking of my classmates and the days we spent in Grundy High.
