BASKETBALL Grundy County Yellow Jackettes had a perfect season in basketball, meeting and defeating the following teams. 49 Grundy Jasper 42 Grundy 28 Morrison 18 Grundy 41 So. Pittsburg 18 Grundy 16 Irving College 15 Grundy 47 So. Pittsburg 21 Yvonne Poeus-CRedJ-An outstanding guard and the only player on the team to make the all T.V.C. team. Mary Ellen Roberts-QBlondieD-A very valuable player and high scorer for the year with an aver- age of fifteen points per game. Betty Lynn Jones-CDarkieB-The quick-thinking forward that helped the team in many tight spot, known for good sports-manship and passing ability. Edna Meeks-iBessJ-The tall guard who can really intercept those passes. This is her second year and she has proved herself very valuable. Emogeno Patterson-CPatJ-Her first year and she has proved that she can take itg her most valu- able asset is her defensive playing. Frances Henley-CShortyJ-The little forward who always knows what to do next. Her points added to Grundy's score and they have won many games. Juanita Kilby-CNitaJ-A first year guard that promises to be valuable in the coming years. She is a good passer as well as intercepter. Mary C. Layne-fCatJ-A very accurate shooter, forward who will prove valuable if the war doesm't end, if it does she will start housekeeping. Marie BarnesufSqueakyJ-The only senior playerg has proved her loyality by sticking with us. Elouise Henley, Marguerite Reddy, Betty Sue Meeks, and Evelyn Tucker - All freshmen players. They have shown good sportsmanship during their first year.
