1 ' 1 V -V l An 1 One September morning in 1936 there were eleven little girls and boys who went to school for the first time. Those eleven children were: Peggy Jean Odom, Nina Jo Purdue, Mary Emily Due, Frances Barton, Joyce Stevenson, Gerald Smith, Guy Roy Odom, Jesse Baker, Clayton Gene iJellyl Hester, Clayton A. f8ugsl Arnold and Billy Joe Terry. They did not know then that they would go all through their school days together. They would have never dreamed of the fun that they were going to have. Now they are eleven of the Seniors of the graduating class of 19U7. ln the second grade another girl became one of us. She was Donna Lea Hollis. Donna Lea came from Westville. The third year we had a number of students to join us. They were: Pauline Cook, Billy Lee and Thomas Traywick from Sylvester. During these years a few students would enlist in our class and drop out or move away. We would like to have all of them in our class now. when our class reached the sixth grade, we skipped it and went on to the seventh. Evy Jean Thornton and Vernon Loftin joined us then, coming from Chita. The next year we moved to Junior High School into the new building- Dorothy Delk came from Neches, Mattie Lou Mangum from Friday, Eugene Gross from Carlisle, Robbie Bailey, Arch Smith, and Paul McFarland from Westville and Willie Mayne Whitehead from Chita. It did not seem as if we would ever get to High School. But we finally made it in 1943. We.had quite an addition to our class that year. They were: Jessie Lee Thompson, Era Bell Thompson and Mary Ruth fRosserJ Terry from Friday. Rowena Scott came from Glendale and Paul Ray Hudgins came from Ft. Worth.
