Cfasf of R? Ima We. the c.ass of 19M7, being about to pass out of this sphere of education, and in full possession of a crammed mind, well trained memo- ry, and almost superhuman understanding do make and publish this will: Gerald Saith leaves his bluff about bottom lockers to Vernon Lis- ter, 'Apply early and avoid the rush.' Pauline Cook wills her radiant face to Martha Jo Davis so there will be some brightness left in G.H.S. Billy Lee wills'the front seat in assembly to any Junior that is able to grab it first. Clayton Allen Arnold wills his cuds of gum left on the underside of his desks to Charles Greenwill. Re-Joyce Marie Iicholds wills tiny Gates her ancestors. She feels she doesn't need them any more. Mina Jo Purdue wills her poetic-mind to some sophomore: maybe they will find a head large enough to hold it all. Darwin Foster wills his Galena Park jacket to the girls of G.H.S. He is hoping that it won't be torn into shreds by each girl wanting it. Harold Deialt would just like to leave Irene Collins, but finds it impossible. Peggy Odon wills her ability to read shorthand to anyone that has the courage to take shorthand next year. Jessie Lee and Bra Bell Ihonpson will their charming giggles and corny companionship to Eloise and Bobbie Jean Anderson. Sorrowfully, John Gilliland leaves Maydelle Collins and Leon Ball leaves Gene Iaylor. Frances Barton and Enily Due leave, still the best of friends. Mattie Lou Mangus leaves her temper and excess boyfriends to any unlucky girl who will have them. That dashing boy, Billy Joe ferry, wills his charm- ing personality to Johnny Williams. To Zane Martin goes Bill Bounds' towering height and basketball ability he can use it iamenll. Leonard Snyder leaves Janes Dukes his beautiful red, wavy hair. Clayton Hester wills his mathematical mind to Janes Courtney. Paul Ray Budgins leaves his speed on the gridiron to George Martin who will need it for the 'B' string. Robbie Bailey leaves his rambling wreck to Jack Wallace, who has one of his own. Marguriette Hagar, leaves her hard-driving brother to the football squad. Guy Roy Odon and Vernon Loftin leave themselves to the football team. Donna Lea Hollis leaves her winning smile to Mary Jo Janes. Ruth ferry leaves her deepest sympathy to any girl in Hi-School who gets hitched. Jesse Baker and Willie Hayne leave peace to the campus after A years of war. Paul Mciarlani leaves his quiet sophisticated manner to Sonny Janes who needs it. Rowena Scott leaves that very intelligent mind to dumb, but cute, Gerry Dodgin. Arch Snith leaves all in one piece, Thank Goodness! Joyce Stevenson leaves her sweet disposition to Mary Beth Daniel. Eugene Gross wills his football ability to any Junior who will have it. Bobbie Brooks leaves one year early to the approval of everyone. Dorothy Delk leaves her dignity to Yvonne Ginon. Thonas Irawick leaves, period. Evy Jean Thornton leaves the memory of her to all the student body.

1 ' 1 V -V l An 1 One September morning in 1936 there were eleven little girls and boys who went to school for the first time. Those eleven children were: Peggy Jean Odom, Nina Jo Purdue, Mary Emily Due, Frances Barton, Joyce Stevenson, Gerald Smith, Guy Roy Odom, Jesse Baker, Clayton Gene iJellyl Hester, Clayton A. f8ugsl Arnold and Billy Joe Terry. They did not know then that they would go all through their school days together. They would have never dreamed of the fun that they were going to have. Now they are eleven of the Seniors of the graduating class of 19U7. ln the second grade another girl became one of us. She was Donna Lea Hollis. Donna Lea came from Westville. The third year we had a number of students to join us. They were: Pauline Cook, Billy Lee and Thomas Traywick from Sylvester. During these years a few students would enlist in our class and drop out or move away. We would like to have all of them in our class now. when our class reached the sixth grade, we skipped it and went on to the seventh. Evy Jean Thornton and Vernon Loftin joined us then, coming from Chita. The next year we moved to Junior High School into the new building- Dorothy Delk came from Neches, Mattie Lou Mangum from Friday, Eugene Gross from Carlisle, Robbie Bailey, Arch Smith, and Paul McFarland from Westville and Willie Mayne Whitehead from Chita. It did not seem as if we would ever get to High School. But we finally made it in 1943. We.had quite an addition to our class that year. They were: Jessie Lee Thompson, Era Bell Thompson and Mary Ruth fRosserJ Terry from Friday. Rowena Scott came from Glendale and Paul Ray Hudgins came from Ft. Worth.
