TRENDS As we reminisce about our years at Groveton, certain trends ‘ come to mind along with other memories of the year. Although these trends haven ' t necessarily , played a dominant role in the ■ school year, they do set this year apart from the rest. We look back on the 50 ' s and think of poodle skirts, sock hops i and the beginningof rockand roll. We call the 60 ' s a time for flower children, drugs, and the Beatles. By the 70 ' s a counter reaction was underway, and so was the me generation. All of these are stereotypes that we look at and accept, but we rarely wonder how we, as chil¬ dren of the 80 ' s, fit in. Guess jeans, Forenza sweaters, mini-skirts, and tails stand out as this year ' s trends. 13

G R A D U A Somewhere between the fresh¬ men orientation and the senior graduation we grew up. We laughed, we cried, and we acted foolish. We made mistakes and sometimes we stumbled, but there was always someone to pick us up and get us going again. We learned to drive and were driven to learn. We broke some hearts and got our hearts broken. We gave in to peer pressure, but still managed to become ourselves. We talked about our struggles, our dreams, our failures and our triumphs.
