qv .1 CLASS YQAW Wi- VN. i Amnuul l Editors It is our wish that as you look through this annual it will bring many happy memories to youg rnernories of our past four years of high school. We have tried to create a new and different annual this year. As editors We hope you enjoy this annual as much as we have enjoyed Working on it. 1 2 ' ' We would like to thank our staff, Whose oo-operation and helpful suggestions contributed so much to its completion. The Editors ,wmaftdj Annual Stuff Clawqkdiwzmw LP, . WW Z a m my zonmdww Z ,gzaaleafi aolafwlibwnmi TIME Time is an odd thing, we have more time than anything else during our life time. From a different light time is the.one thing we have the least of! If we place our meager life span on the time line of the world, we find that we have only the smallest portion of a dot to mark our having been here. At times we are too prone to imagine that the world revolves I around usg that the inventions, luxuries, and if even troubles were designed just for us. However, as we become more mature in our mental processes we are increasingly aware that we are but an infinitesimally small unit in the total picture of earthly time--to say nothing of the time of our universe! Each human contributes something to the overall achievement of man. No mere mortal can do much, but each must do something. Time well spent will help construct our societyg time wasted will retard our society. Many people are judged not by how they spent their time but only by the more obvious material results of their efforts , may they be constructive or destructive. Whether we like it or not the ultimate decision will have to be made, based on how we spent our time, did we sit still and wait for time to go by or did we go with time and pass by the inertia caused by the time watcher. How will you use your time, merely to measure your life span, or to direct your life span toward the more constructive aspects of our earth and its people--people like you? We can not kill time without injuring the futureg you are the future. ,QQ M4055 , ff' Principal W Secretary: Donell Howard DQEDICATION: Mr. Keiser, we believe that your views on education and life have in- fluenced us and will be useful to us for many years to come. The members are all beginners this ye ar and are doing very well. The main activity of the junior band has been the concert they gave at the P. T. A. meeting on February 12. SENIOR BAND Under the direction of our new and capable band director, Mr. Ronald Sands, Grovertown's first marching band was formed. Mr. Sands has done a tremendous iob of rebuilding our band in all aspects.l The band is made up of 63 members. The marching band has performed some first-class shows at basketball games. Their shows included Around the World in 80 Days at the Hanna game, At the Circus at the Tyner game, a Valentine Show at the North Liberty game, and a Salute to Texas at the Hamlet game. The band also marched at the P. T. A. carnival. They have also received many invitations to march at coming events. In April, the band gave one of the best concerts Grovertown has ever heard. At this concert, the band played several selections from various fields of music, some being the tough- est music that can be played. The Band Boosters, which began in April, 1958, have met every third Thursday of each month. The club consists of band members parents, and anyone else interested in the progress and development of the Grovertown music department. Their main goal has been to arouse and maintain an interest in the band and to purchase uniforms, music, and musical instruments. The mem- bers have held a spaghetti supper, an ice cream social, a bakeless bake sale, an Old Fashioned ham and bean supper, a raffle, and many more money-making projects.
