Q i E E S E On August 30, 1946, thirty-eight mischievous first-graders entered school under the kind supervision of Mrs. Hazel Hasely. Of the original, the sixteen are re- maining, Frank Abel, Don Adams, Eldon Amor, Dana Anderson, Linda Beem, Janice Carmean, Betty Filip, Sandra Keiper, Russell Kcontz, James Kuchel, Nancy Norris, Valerie Ogle, Barbara Riffey, James Singleton, Virginia Taylor, and Garrett White. In second and third grade we were joined by Jaines Carnes and Chester Menczynski respectively. Mrs. Hasely remained our teacher during those two years. In fourth grade Howard Lipke and Jerry Seese entered the happy group, and Mrs. Evelyn Peterson was our teacher. Stanley Marks decided on joining Old Grover in the fifth grade. In this year Mrs. Ethel Nelson was our leader. and we took our first school trip to Brookfield Zoo. With five years of schooling behind us we advanced into the 7th grade with Mr. Robert Plotkin as our teacher. During this year the class presented A Christ- mas Carol by Charles Dickens. It was our first production and quite exciting for everyone. As we proceeded out of elementary, and into Junior High, Deanna Daily joined us in the seventh grade. We realized that the next six years were to be the best. In May of 1953 this jovial group set out on a 3-day trip to southern Indiana. It was a wonderful experience and enjoyed by all. Eighth grade graduation was our next big thrill, with everyone looking forward to the moment when he would enter high school. Dean Kelly entered our class in the ninth grade, and was the last sheep to the fold. This was an exciting year with everyone attempting to adjust himself to high school. We can never forget our freshman initiation, which was fun for all. Our junior year was one of the most thrilling of all. It was during this time that we presented our first major production of Mumbo Jumbo , Lmder the super- vision of Mrs. Barbara Howard. During this year we conducted many different schemes to earn money for the long awaited Junior and Senior trips. The Junior trip to Canada was a huge success. There were loads of laughs and many memor- able experiences. Finally the much anticipated Senior Year rolled around. During this time we gave our second production titled Finders Creepers . The first semester sped by during which we made preparations for our annual, had senior pictures taken, and earned money. The final semester seemed longer, because each person was anxiously awaiting the exciting climax to our 12 yearsg graduation and the trip. Early on the morning of May 24, 1958, twenty-four of the recently graduated seniors left on the wonderful and exciting trip.
