Of these thirty-five, sixteen are still present. They are, Janet Awald, Richard Awald, Jerry Bierly, Helen Cook, Jerry Hancock, Dale Hayes, Barbara Hines, Myrna Holm, Rex Howard, Richard Hughes, Donn Kelver, Raymond Koontz, John Nelson, Eleanor Rif- fey, Ida Mae Singleton, and Delbert Whitaker. Our first grade teacher was Mrs. Hasley. During the second grade, Madylon Powell and Joyce Erickson came to join our class and Mrs. Awald was our teacher. In the third grade Mrs. Volkers was our teacher, and in the fourth Mrs. Peter- son. During our fifth grade, Conrad Kriskovsky and Walter Hall came to join our class, our fifth grade teacher was Mrs. Nelson. During this year we went to Brookfield Zoo and the Railroad Fair at Chicago. When we were in the sixth grade Ida Mae Singleton left to go to school at Ober, but it wasn't long before she was back with us. Gladys Taylor came to join our class while we were in the sixth grade. Mr. Plotkin was our sixth grade teacher. When we entered the seventh grade, everything was new and different, but it wasn't long until we became accustomed with this new method. While we were in the seventh grade Judy Millice joined our class and Gladys Taylor left to go to one of the neighboring schools. Mr. Peterson was our seventh and eighth grade sponsor. While in the eighth grade Joyce Erickson moved away and Gladys Taylor came back again to Good Ole' Grover . We also took a trip through Indiana with Mr. Merica as our sponsor. We graduated from elementary school in May, 1953. At the beginning of our freshman year everything again was different but not as much as be- fore. The first thing of our freshman year was the initiation by the seniors. This was an event that will be long remembered in the minds of all of us. Miss Corbitt was our freshman spon- sor. During our sophomore year Dale Owens came from San Pierre to be with our class. Also, during our sophomore year we served the Farm Bureau Supper and had two class parties. Mrs. Reid was our sophomore sponsor. Our junior year was the busiest -year of all. We were in charge of the candy store at noon, and the concessions at all the home games. We alto had our first play, Hillbilly Weddin'. Along with this we sold Christmas cards and magazines, and also picked up corn to help with our senior trip. In October, of our junior year, we took a three-day trip to Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Canada, and enjoyed it very much. The Junior-Senior Prom was held at Plymouth, Indiana, on May 4, 1956. Mrs. Nibbelink was our junior and senior sponsor and also directed both plays. Also during our junior year Joyce Erickson came back to Good Ole' Grover . We also served the Farm Bureau Supper again this year. During our twelfth and final year, we ordered everything for Commencement, gave our sen- ior play, Aunt Samanthy Rules the Roost , put out the school paper and the annual. We also attended the Aliunni Banquet. Baccalaureate was held May 19, 1957, and Commencement May 24, 1957. We left on our twelve day Senior Trip bright and early on May 25, 1957. 451 Wi I gnd Testament We, the class of '57, in Oregon Township, Starke County, State of Indiana, being of sound mind, do hereby make this our last senior will and testament. The meeting was called to order by Janet Awald, who is now the National P. T. A. Presi- dent. Joyce Erickson, the Secretary to the President of the United States, is writing down the minutes of the meeting, while Donn Kelver, Governor of Indiana, is acting as Sargeant of Arms, and is doing a very good job at the meeting and also as Governor. Under the old business, Conrad Kriskovsky, who is the Ambassador to Czechoslovakia is telling about his journey from his home in California to his mansion in Czechoslovakia. On Conrad's way to the reunion he stopped at one of the large restaurants that are on the Turn- pike, that goes completely around the world, which was designed by John Nelson. He is now the most famous and highest paid engineer in the world. There was Dick Awald who had just brought a lion back from Africa, where he has been big game hunting. The large restaurant which we were talking about was one of the Howard- Johnson restaurants where Dale Hayes is the famous food connoisseur. The food which we had for refreshments was also prepared a.nd served by Dale. During the meeting, in rushed Eleanor Riffey and Gladys Taylor, who just returned from Alaska where Eleanor has been selling earrings, and Gladys has been selling snowballs to the Eskimos. Myrna fHolmJ Howard, who is now Mrs. America, stood up and said she was glad she could attend since she has four children at home. Her famous husband, Rex Howard, who is the world famous Olympic star also said he was glad to be there. We heard a roar and all ran to the window to see Mrs. Nibbelink jumping out of her bright red sports car, which was designed and driven by the world famous sports car designer, Raymond Koontz, and behind him in a cattle truck was Delbert Whitaker who is now head of the National Dairy Association for Crippled Cows, Delbert later announced that the reason for driving the truck was that he didn't want to leave his cows at home. The entertainment for the afternoon was furnished by Ida Mae Singleton, who has recent- ly been awarded a gold record for her revisions of the Elvis Presley numbers, and Barbara Hines, who is a world famous ballerina. Judy Millice, who gives advice to the love-lorn, also gave a short talk on this subject. Dale Owens, who is now the Principal of Grovertown High School, gave a short talk on how the school is being run. The furniture which was used for the party was designed and donated by Helen Cook, who is the designer of all the furniture for the President's mansion. The drinks for the afternoon were served by Madylon Powell, who is now the manufac- turer of a new pop, Burp-up . When the meeting was practically over, in hobbled Jerry Hancock, who is a world fa- mous crutch designer and salesman. We were sorry to hear that Walter Hall could not be with us, but since he is the head of the International Orphanage it was impossible for him to be there. The arrangements for transportation for the picnic were made by Jerry Bierly, a famous pilot for T.W. A. We hope that life will be just as pleasant for the many years to come as it has been for the past ten. ' MTWR?
