By practicing hard the members of the Jr. Band merit membership in the Sr. Band. Under the capable direction of Mrs. Lile, the band gave several concerts and played for various school functions. Our band works in close harmony with the Hamlet Band and together form a fine musical organization. On or off the green carpet, the seniors find a home in the office. A distinct halo of dignity surrounds their countenance as they bustle about doing this and that for one teacher or another. Then too, there's work to be done for credit in commerce. And once in a while, as the saying goes, when the cat is away the mice will play. G.A.A. AT GROVERTOWN The girls of the Grovertown High School have enjoyed the privilege of belonging to the Girls Athletic Association. This Indiana organization has a membership of nearly one hundred schools. In this organization social activities and an athletic program which is set by the state GAA are followed. Games with other schools are planned, friendships with girls of other schools are begun, and all of the worthwhile benefits of activity engaging in play activities are felt. Leadership qualities are developed as girls lead or direct their groups in organized play. Many of the members are also having the added leadership training of direct- ing the smaller children in play. The sponsor of our GAA is Mary Margaret Corbitt. The officers of the 1952-53 school year are: President -- Carolyn Abel, Vice President -- Norine Lehiy, Secretary -- Deanna Janovic, Treasurer -- Donnell Chiaro, Secretary of points -- Ruby Allen.
