Les Memoires Staff J. V- On the morning of June 1, 1976, we, the eighteenth yearbook staff, were rudely awakened by our predecessors. Get up! Congratulations! You are now a member of I.. ne xt year ' s yearbook staff! Staff? What staff? At 3:30 in the morning, who cared? Dragged out of our beds, we were cordially given breakfast — not in bed, but in our pajamas. That was the first day we were together as a group. -M We were thrilled, happy, even proud, to have been chosen for the yearbook staff. The following September, however, we were stunned into oblivion at the enormous task we faced ahead of ourselves. Cover? Theme? Colors2 Well ..... . - it took more to decide than the average yearbook reader could imagine. Sometimes we had it out among each other as those horrible deadlines loomed in front of us emd pages had to be turned in. Editor-in-Chief pushing the other Editors, Editors pushing each other, and Mr. Davis pushing all of us ... ah! What Memories! Experiences? Yes we had many. The times we would laugh at Emery ' s copy, or notice Jeri in the corner with her birthday hat on, the lonely chair next to the box marked Tim Ranier-Art Editor — yes many. We all used to watch Brenda and Dave point the finger at each other for losing negatives or forgetting to take pictures. Such confusion! Tom used to entertain us with his brilliant remarks, for instance, when asked how his pages were coming along he would reply, Just fine and yours? Sue we just shook our heads at when she would start to type, for the fifth time, the sam ' paragraph that she ' d been doing for the last hour. Yes, and Barb we were all fond of. (Some were more than just fond!) We all, at one time or another, had listened to Lori ' s idea of how to do something. Sometimes we used her ideas, other times we just ignored them. Paul and Kathy would answer pictures! We need pictures! to any- thing you asked them after a while. Linda was especially good at keeping the people down at Northridge Studios company. Oh yea, and Eleanor, our Editor-in-Chief, well she had the toughest job on the staff. She was disliked by all of us at one time or another just for doing her job, that ' s what made her job so hard. Finally, we will remember Mr. Davis as our touch-up man, who ' s main job was to point us in the right direction and pick out the mistakes that had tried to sneak by us. The whole year in itself was an experience — and what an experience! Now that the whole ordeal is over and the yearbook is out of the room and in circu- lation, we can look back and say, That wasn ' t so bad after all. Remember how much fun we had? And as sure as time softens the past and its memories, we will look back and laugh. To the Cleveland student body, faculty, and whoever else may buy the eighteenth edition of Les Memoires, the yearbook staff of 1976-77 presents this book and sin- cerely hopes you enjoy every page of it. , ' ■
