Year of Adiustment year progressed, they familiarized themselves with most of the school regulations but could never quite comprehend the logic of the rule that a corridor slip was required just to walk in the halls. The monitors' challenge, Where's your pass? has made many a Freshman tremble. As time went on, the Freshmen adapted themselves to the life ofthe school and achieved recognition in athletics, scholarship, and extra-curricular activities. With their auspicious beginning they cannot fail to bring honor to Grover, as many of them have brought honor to their respective grammar schools. The confused novices of September are true Groverite-5 in June.

Freshmen . . When they arrived in September, the Freshmen considered themselves mature and adultg to the upper-classmen, they seemed young and bewildered. These grammar school alumni felt themselves competent to tackle any problem, yet on the first day their sole task was to complete endless forms, a chore which gave them writer's cramp. Later, they were given their yellow promotion cards whereupon they immediately began to compare class schedules with their friends. Fate had indeed dealt them a cruel blow by assigning them to different teachers! Sophomores . September arrived and our last year's Freshmen, now an integral part of Grover's student body, came with care-free expressions to begin the second year of their high school career, Fully acquainted with the school procedures and accustomed to the rules, they were prepared to inaugurate a successful school year and accomplish whatever was expected of them. Remembering their own experience as Freshmen when they were at the beck and call of upperclassmen, the Sophomores saw to it that history repeated itself. Traces of their activities were in evidence in the cafeteria where, for the first few weeks, freshmen faces blushed with lipstick decorations-and with the exertion of carrying Sophomore lunch trays.
