WITI- For a moment let us forge for autographs, of plannin the untiring eforts of ou equations, historical date. fade with the years, but th parents, will remain with it OUR PRINCIPAL - Mr. Devine TO THE Our Year Book Staff has designated The School Calen- dar as our theme, and it seems to me an exceptionally appropriate one. Do you remember the fall of I949 when you entered Grover Cleveland as freshmen? You seemed eager to begin the new life opening up for you with zeal and purpose. Your spirit and enthusiasm could be likened to the crisp stimulation of a bright fall day. The fall deepened into winter with its cold, biting, sophomoric blasts, constantly reminding you that ever-increasing obstacles had to be overcome before you could emerge into the fresh and lustrous verdure of spring days. But finally spring came and then-as juniors-you were definitely and surely begin- SENICRS ning to grow and lift your heads and ornament whatever you lent presence to. The rest, of course, is inevitable-the summer, the season of joy, with its warmth, its beauty, its fulfillment of the promises of spring has now enveloped you, and you go forth into it filled with confidence and courage. May all your future hours increase the golden glory that is yours today. i .
