Senior and junior ms competed for the championship. 308 A, spurred on Captain Barbara l-leather's exhibitions after the games, 1 the Junior-Senior Volleyball Championship by defeating I. The games were characterized by the whistle, the too-high net, and the subs sitting on the bench anxiously waiting to replace the girls who had to rush to work after the first halt. VARSITY CROSS COUNTRY-In achieving fifth Place in the All-High Run, our team did a remarkable job. The team was composed of three hold-overs from last year- Dick Tuzzo, Dick Lunghino, and Joe Di Figlia-with new faces making up the remainder of the squad. The new boys -Nick Zendano and Anthony Sodaro, freshmen, Mike O'Brien, sophomore, Jim Ferris, AI Spino, Charles Galiano, elle' Hutch' and Sal Christopher, juniors-won letters in the All-High Meet. SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS-in Novembefwe we settled down to hard studying, and as we studied, we thought of two highly selected groups of l952 graduates. We were working hard to follow their examples. ln the top group, left to right, we have Adeline Giordano, winner of a full-tuition scholarship to Doyle's Beauty School, Edwin llardo, Sl40O N.Y.S. Scholarship to any college in the state, also partial scholarships to Canisius College and the University of Buffalo, Mary Calabro, N.Y.S. Scholarship, and Joseph Grieco, partial Canisius College Scholarship, Mary CUM S p e c i a l applications the Debate support of 5 u c c essful vote . . . the . . . Grover? HONOR ROLL LEADERS-SEATED: Joe, Frannie. STANDING: Sam, Rose, Don, Salvatore, Nina, Virginia, Anthony. These scholar- ships are available every year. Each year Grover Cleveland also confers special awards.
