The giddy Juniors, dashing madly through the halls, day after day, seem to have more fun than any other class. They have now gained the dignity of being upper classmen but don't yet have the worry and responsibility which presses on seniors. The girls of 300 were very proud when Jane Navarro sold the highest number of tickets in the school for Do You Remember? Donna Schreckengost made quite a hit with all when she won both the Declamation and the Voice of Democracy essay contests. Another orator, James McDonald won second place in the city- Junior Officers Eugene Shanahan President Catherine Lipomi Vice-President Jane Bishop Secretary Louis Augello Boys' Treasurer Pauline Rossi Girls' Treasurer ' Anthony Buscaglia Boys' Marshal Anna Dantonio Girls' Marshal Gene, Jane, Tony, Anna, Louis, Catherine, Pauline. wide Boys' Declamation Contest with his speech A Modern Problem . ln the line of athletics, what Junior hasn't stood on the bleachers down in the old gym and cheered for the third year basketball stars Fran Johnson, Angelo Macaluso, Jim McGroder and President Gene Shanahan? The girls hiked out to Delaware Park to feed apples to Howard Gawne, Sam Zarcone, Leslie Ralston, John Barone and the other cross country boys. The girls have their wiry stars, too, in Catharine Eberhardt, Elaine Doctor, Dolly Ballacchino, the McKernan twins and many others.
