CHEERLEADERS Rain or shine, these girls were always ready with a smile and a cheer at the '48-'49 football and basketball games. This peppy squad, in their cute new outfits, is one we are very proud of. Besides their excellent cheer- ing, every one of the cheerleaders mastered the art of the cartwhcel which adds glamour and color to their performance. These girls deserve a great deal of credit, for they cer- tainly did get the student body behind our teams, which no doubt was an important factor in effecting many of our victories. HOCKEY Fighting the weather and formidable opponents this season, the girls' hockey team did not turn in a record as impressive as they have in previous years. Most of their games were rained out, and the team ended the season having played but two, losing to Passaic Valley and tieing Mountain Lakes. To prove that you can't judge a book by its cover, four girls- Annette Damato, center, Georgene Ernst, left inner, Doris Beck, right fullback, Muriel Blazek, goalie- made the lst All State Team, thus placing Caldwell highest of all other schools represented. f ,I X U X, rf' 1-' , - x .
