Oh! There's Earl Ference with a paper. l'll just look on with him and save a half a dollar, the cost of a paper. Good morning Mayor, how's the family, mind if I look at the paper with you? The headlines read G. ELMO GAFFNEY NAMED NATION'S MOST PERFECTLY DEVELOPED MAN. GRASS-SNAKES WIN! Coach Ray Sewell leads Conference with 'I straight wins. Sewell, All- American for three years and winning the title as The Toothless Power House. There's another Topic, Stetson's Cap Gun,,I meant Pistol Pete fVirgi1 Parrish.J He was a running mate of the Mighty Sewell. He scored 415 points in nine games, but just think that was with a broken back and several head operations. I also remember Butch Weir was elected captain of the All-Southern team. He was one of the best, the easy-going brain of The University of Southern Shame. He's now a bookkeeper if I re- member right. ' Aw! Mayor turn over to the society page: Flash-A -Diamond Bruner has just been robbed. She hired Noel, Sleepy Sam, Cain to hunt down the thief. I think it will turn out to be that spend- free husband of hers. Mary Helen's down the block. What's she doing? Oh! Shining an old 1950 Oldsmobile. Wonder why she's doing that, maybe she don't want to get fat. The town has really grown. Our class of '52 has helped out a lot. There's Shir1ey's Beauty Shop-- Buy Kinlaw Milk in back--her sign reads. Speedu Lonely-Hearts Club Building is about the biggest thing in town, with Joyce Gwendolyn Short, manager, owner and operator. And Carolyn Painter's new theater, starring Janet Twick-A-Knee Tomlinson in WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT?--a story of how Jean Ellen Crawford set a new record of time to Tenn. and back. Carolyn Jenkins just opened a permanent skating rink. She was in the Glass business. And thete's Virginia Bridges--just back in town. She is for the Grass-Snakes right or wrong. She is the popular, coach's wife and has started her own team. It takes a Lincoln to carry them all. There's Turner Booth down the block, sitting in the shade taking life easy. He doesn't have to worry about income taxes what with dependents, and Madelena ------ What was her name? Ohl Jattuso fl forgot, it's been changed so long. I wonder how she supports that husband of hers. Here comes Edwina fused to be Judyy with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and into the Post Office she goes hoping to get a letter from her man. Cornelia Patterson really looks important as state census-taker. By the way, she said Groveland has just reached the 10,000 count. Joyce, none other than the Ex-Joyce Hunt was elected the state's ideal housewife. I 0 ,l,,,..,, V,-lygn f--W-W --ff' --W- Norma Booth--I just can't keep up with. I think she's a nurse at Penicillin Field Hospital. John Ed Odom is the best farmer in Central Florida. The other day John Ed told me he crossed a Poland China hog and a rabbit. Believe it or not he said he got a schmoo. He killed it because he expected a Henry J. The last I heard. from Earl Kinlaw was the day after graduation, heading to Maryville, Tennessee Goodbye, Don Wynn I F ' -if L ,5,pd,.f5' . This class of '52 plant had only three little roots, Shirley Kinlaw, Mary Helen Ogden and Gilford Gaffney. In its second year of growth, another one was added--from Astatula came Jean Crawford. This quartet spent their third year undisturbed. The fourth year it had five roots--Edwina Judy joined it from Bay Lake. This flourishing plant in its fifth year attracted everyone--from Winter Haven came a little leaf, Virginia Bridges and another, Joyce Hunt, came from Withlachooee. Joyce Short from Eaglelake added more beauty to it. James, better known as Butch Weir wanted to give Gilford some com- petition. Just one leaf was added the sixth year. Carolyn Painter joined the plant from Waterville, Kansas. The first year of Junior High the plant met with a disaster. It might have been a Florida hurricane, but it wasn't. It was the graduates from Mascotte Grammar School. They were: Virgil Parrish, Don Wynn, Beverly Bruner, Norma Booth and Janet Tomlinson. Again it was served a horrible blow-- from Orlando came Ray Sewell, and De Land lent Carolyn Jenkins for two years. Albany, Georgia, sent a tall and stalwart farmer, John Ed Odom. Then from Racine, Wisconsin, came the plants Italian touch, Madalena Jattuso. Suddenly, the class of '52 plant began to wilt. Beverly Bruner and Carolyn Painter shifted to Mont- verde to spend their eighth year. Carolyn Jenkins returned to De Land. Beverly Bruner and Carolyn Jenkins just couldn't stay away. They returned in the ninth year and added more life to the plant, Janet Tomlinson wandered over to Tampa for two years. Ten years of growth and the plant was still growing and thriving beautifully. It received from Penn- sylvania two fellows. Pittsburgh sent Earl Ference, and Philadelphia sent Noel Cain. Webster, Florida sent two: Cornelia Patterson and Turner Booth. QWho's following men A Junior plant now, and Janet Tomlinson returned from Tampa. This year the class of '52 plant pre- sented a play, Aunt Cathie's Cat. It was directed by Miss Virginia Sewell. Seniors--Earl Finney Kinlaw, a lost member of the '51 'ers, retired from the Navy and joined the class of '52 plant. Carolyn Painter, back from Montverde, renewed her acquaintance again. With the addition of these two, which made a total of 24, the little plant finally reached maturity. Yes, the little seed with the help and care of all the teachers along the way, grew and finally in '52 it bloomed for the first time. .Cast Will ,And Zcstamcnt I, Carolyn Jenkins, will my mischevious ways to Christine Plowden, to be used often.
