Walker, who has served 20 years, Vice-President, Noah Harrison, who has served 20 years, Member, Bill Barns, who has served 2 yearsg Clerk, Clay Babb, who has served 26 years. Three of these members have been with our school from its beginning of a lone school building with an appraised value of 320,000, to the present, with its modern campus containing three buildings with an appraised value of 8250,000. Not onlv have they seen the school advance in material values, but also make vast strides in academic standards. In 1922 there were 9 teachers and the school was unaccredited. Today there are 2A teachers and the school is not only accredited, but is a member of the North Central Association. The first school bus ran a route to Zena Q Dennis. This bus was home-made with wooden seats. The parents paid 63.00 per person per month for this transportation. Now we have 7 buses and 1 activity bus paid for by the school district. In 1933 the gym was built, the lawn landscaped and the tennis court built. The gym was built by W. P. A. labor and the material donated. The cement blocks were carried from the old Presbyterian Church by the school children. In 19h3-LL the grade building was erected. In 19L7-L8, the Junior Figh School wing was constructed, in 1950 the old gym had a coating of per- mastone, and the grade school had an interior clean-up. At present our school board has one big aim ---- bringing a Junior College to Grove. Here's to their further success! -4. The Staff , ,.,N , . ,.
