Thzvty tzto fbwmaiiw YOU CAN T TAKE IT WITH YOU Under the drrectron of Mrs Maxrne Gardner the semor class presented You Can t Take It Wrth You The three act comedy s plot dealt wrth a famrly who though they seemed crazy and rmpractlcal to the average people were really very wrse because they got what they wanted out of lrfe The plot unfolds when Alrce who rs the only practrcal one rn the famrly falls rn love wrth her boss son Tony Krrby Trouble arrses when Alrce rnvrtes the Krrbys to her home and they arrrve a day early When they arrrve Grandpa the most outstandrng character rn the play greets them by offerrng the Krrbys a tomato But thrs IS not so un usual because father and hrs frrends make fireworks rn the basement mother rs contrnually wrrtrng plays Essre a marrred srster makes candy and takes ballet lessons from Borrs Kolenkhov a very Outstandmg Rus sran ballet rnstructor Numerous other characters were rnvolx ed rn thrs uproarrous comedy Joyable evenrng naw, ww wa, Twelve years ago early on a September mornrng 9 o clock to be exact srxty some bewrldered grref strrcken lrttle chrldren wandered rnto the deep dark halls of learnrng to be trapped there for the next twelve years After much strugglrng and headaches trrals and trrbulatrons both to ourselves and to our teachers we made rt to the erghth grade Those of us here at Groxe Crty worked and slaved to present the erghth grade play Tom Sawyer drrected by Mrs Maxrne Gardner Then narrowly pass mg through the State Erghth Grade Test we vsere passed mto the hrgh school All of our grade teachers gaxe a srgh of relref and the hrgh school teachers gave a groan of agony As freshmen our brothers and srsters from Harrrsburg Urbancrest and Galloway Jorned us Our freshman presrdent was Carl Patzer We sponsored a skatrng party and a dance after a ball game that year When the class of 48 became ornery lrttle sophomores they became 66 9 99 ll Y ' 77 , . .
