14 Seniafzfet 4 The walk 1n front of the not too large bu1ld1ng 1sn t a long one but many people pass over 1t and through the famlllal front doors everv day People who are for the most part und1stu1 bed by what they gam w1th1n those doors and bw the persons w1th whom they are assoclated It 1sn t unt1l you are ready to leave the school that you begln to reallze Just w hat those assoc1ates and the school has meant to you To the faculty You have done for us a great servlce and we w1sh to express our appreclatlon We have spent the prevlous four years here IH th1S school under varlous lnstructors and the tra1n1ng we have recelved w1ll be a tremendous help on the road we w1ll travel after graduatlon and we appreclate 1n some measure how much the value of what we have been taught has depended upon your care and falthfulness We also must take leave of the members of the undergraduate classes who have been fellow students w1th us here and wlth whom we have been closely assoclated Day after day we have assembled and the assocla t1ons wh1ch cluster around all of us and the school more V1V1d IH our m1nds now than ever can never be fo1 gotten In later years the l1ttle 1nc1dents that have occurred whlch seem now hardly worth the tell1ng w1ll possess a deeper 1nterest and Wlll l1nger long m our memory The dutles wh1ch have been ours as Senlors w1ll become yours Remem ber that the School IS 1n a true sense a moral personallty dependlng for among the h1gh schools 1n the county and as you do the work we have falled to do may you know that vou have the heartlest sympathy of those who are now b1dd1ng you farewell Classmates we have worked together on many d1iferent thmgs and have occupled much the same pos1t1on durmg our years 1n H1gh School But from the day we leave the school we shall occupy a d1fferent pos1t1on and we shall each pursue a dlfferent path Dlfferences IU our thoughts and our op1n1ons whlch separate us now but sl1ghtly w1ll d1v1de us more and more and as tlme passes the vears of separatlon w1ll flow as an exer w1den1ng flood between us spanned only by a common memory and a mutual regard Whether or not we are say1ng farewell to each other we are saymg farewell to our H1gh School days They at least w1ll never come back The respons1b1l1t1es and opportun1t1es of these four years have passed by but we must remember that there are greater respons1b1l1t1es and oppor tun1t1es 1n store for us than we have ev er experlenced and the lssue for the future rests 1n our hands In these four years we haxe learned to know one another and even our chsagreements have brought out the frank S1d9S of our nature But now we part each to pursue a dlfferent path alone But w 1th love and respect for our school w 1th a certaln sense of loyalty to each IH the class of 48 wlth our heart and m1nd bent on h1gh and b oad thlngs so we shall go forth and Godspeed' v . . . . , ' ' ' 7 v , 1 , . s y v I . , . . . .
