Exceeding Expectations The Lady Eagles climb the ladder of success The Lady Eagles Volleyball Team pur rogerher on astounding season this year With rhe character that each of these girls displayed. rhe ream definitely exceeded all of rhe coaches and fans expectations. The ream ended their regular season with a record of 16-4. This record placed them third in rhe District 10 AAA standings. It also qualified them as one of rhe sixteen reams to go to rhe stare tournament. This mokes them only rhe second athletic ream in rhe history of Grove City High School to advance to rhe stare level of competition. Throughout rhe season each girl learned from their mistakes and come back with that winning spirit and attitude. This was evident with Michelle Sreigerwold's performance during rhe stare semifinal gome against Corry. The Lady Eagles had previously lost a heartbreaking game ogoinsr West Middlesex, which would have led to a tie for rhe Mercer County Leogue Champion. Leaving rhe disappointment behind, they come bod strong with power spiking by Michelle Sreigerwokj to defeat Corry ond qualify for rhe stare tournament. They were a group of girls who definitely tried rheir best, and it all paid off! Coach Shawnee Denbow com menrs, “The nnoin ingredient of our success?
