FINAL M'A'S'H — The final episode of M'A'S'H aired in February of 1983. Original cast is shown on the left and closing cast on the right. TOY CRAZE — Cabbage Patch Kids, complete with birth certificates and adoption papers, were hot items with holiday shoppers. CUP GOES DOWN UNDER — The yacht “Australia II became the first challenger to take the Americas Cup in 132 years, defeating the defender, “Liberty. THERE SHE IS —In September a Syracuse University coed, Vanessa Williams, was crowned Miss America for 1984. FLASHY MOVIE — Nineteen-year-old Jennifer Beals starred in the hit movie “Flashdance and firmly established the torn sweat shirt as one of the year's fashion fads.

The Staff of the Pine Knot have tried to portray faithfully t drama of ’23-’24 at Grove City Hi and “Your humble patience pray, gently to hear, kindly to judge our play.” We wish to thank our advertisers, subscribers and contributors for their loyal support in this, the first edition of a regular year book, by Grove City Hi. One of the important duties of this staff was the choosing of, a name. It was thought the name should be characteristic of the town. Allusion to Wolf Creek had been pre-empted by a College publication, so the former name of Grove City, “Pine Grove” suggested to us “Pine Cone.” “Pine Nut,” “Pine Needle,” “Pine Stump,” “Pine Log,” “Piney,” and “Pine Knot” as appropriate to come from a Grove. The first we feared our friends might say we had gone to seed, the second suggested a dumbbell, the third is even sharper than we wish to be, the (Stump and the Log are quite unpoetic. The Knot although almost tough has a beautiful grain (Look for this in the Senior Writeups.) A Pine Knot con so much rezin that no kindling other than a match is needed to start a good fire. Readers will notice we have struck several matches. We expect the fire to burn brightly at least until the next issue of “The Pine Knot.” Think, too, how historical rich the word “Knot” is—the Gordon Knot, Matrimonial Knot, Hangman’s Knot, etc. -------o------- Article taken from original 1924 Pine Knot.” In celebration of the 60th anniversary , the “Pine Knot , we have worked hard to improve and strengthen the traditional Pine Knot memory book. We have cut away the old limbs and strengthened the new by creating a theme to add interest. Because of the phenomenal growth of the community, new and exciting changes in administration, and the mighty boost of physical fitness, the yearbook staff feels that we can finally say We're shaping up!
