Mr. Grant Thompson; Music and Director of Band FINE ARTS Fine Arts provide activities in which high school students can demonstrate and develop their talent. Courses in Music, Art, Speech, and Drama strive to bring out creativity in young minds as well as the discovery and encouragement of talent. Students have the opportunity to learn public speaking and dramatics by participating in speech classes and outside speaking activities. They gain confidence before audiences and learn to act and concentrate. In chorus, band, and orchestra students perform together in concerts and musicals. A four year course in art develops the students’ special interests. Mr. Bernard Barnes: Physical Education PHYSICAL EDUCATION Physical education builds not only the human body, but also developes coordination and conditions muscles. This fitness is reflected in better school work and a healthier state of mind. Activities such as volleyball, softball, football, gymnastics and fencing contribute to the students' fitness and relaxation.
