MMM PINE KNOT PUBLI A high school yearbook is written less for the pre- sent than for the future. The 1966 PINE KNOT will in later years, bring to mind many fond memories of GCHS. The staff has spent many hours producing this collection of memories. The 1965 PINE KNOT was awarded Second Class Honors by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in the thirty-first annual yearbook contest. CATIONS GROVER STAR Hours of hard work and the combined efforts of all the staff members go into the production of each issue of the Grover Star. The paper is published monthly and gives the students and others in the community a chance to catch up on all the school news. It also provides staff members with opportunities to try their hand at writing and to learn the basic rules used in the newspaper business. This year three representatives of the staff and their adviser, Mr. Nial McCamey, attended a newspaper conference in New York City. Inexperience showed as the Eagles ended the year with a 5-17 record. Two victories over Lakeview by one point, and wins over Franklin, Union, and Reynolds were the Eagles high water marks. Despite the record, the Eagles displayed some tactics that should prove to be of good use next year. Next years squad will be built around four juniors and three sophomores. All of these boys saw a lot of action this year. Two boys sank over 300 points this year. Paul Ladjevich, a junior, racked up 364 points for top scorer and right behind him was senior Robbie Wood with a total of 361 points.
