PHYSICAL EDUCATION Miss Barbara Boyts; Physical Education Junior High Cheerleader Adviser Physical education not only develops physical strength but also a personal quality of leadership and sportsmanship. In classes a student learns to take part in activities; to play as best as he can; and to win or lose with dignity. During the year the boys participate in tumbling, volleyball, rope work, track, and the other seasonal sports. The girls take part in tumbling and volleyball plus modern and square dancing, badminton, basketball and softball. HOME ECONOMICS Home economics courses provide a homelike atmosphere in school for girls who want to further their education in fields concerning the management and everyday needs of the home. Not only does the student learn the fundamentals of sewing and cooking, but also she acquires efficiency and self-confidence in everything she docs. The pre-clinic course is designed to prepare future nurses and teachers. During the first semester, the girls study foods and its value to the body. In lab preparation of different dishes, the students can see their book studies turn to reality.
