ADMINISTRATION Mr. Morrison Orr. Senior High Principal Dr. Jack B. Hetrick. Superintendent I wish to congratulate the Staff on a task well done in making available for years to come, the highlights of this school year. In the years to come when the students whose activities are described in this book are scattered far and wide, this record will become increasingly treasured. Whatever you as seniors do in the days ahead, if you are going to grow and succeed you must have a desire to do so. To make your goal a reality, you must plan carefully your course of action. To complete your plan you must have the will to follow through and be definite. Set a deadline, a time limit, and stay with it. Our best wishes go with you as you apply these rules to your Mr. Robert McMichael, Junior High Principal It used to be that some people, upon the completion of high school or college, considered themselves to “have acquired an education.” Some even felt that their diplomas exempted them from the necessity of further learning. Now, almost everyone realizes the folly of such an attitude. There has never been a time when education was more necessary to the happiness and success of individuals. The great reduction in the need for manual laborers and the rise in the need for educated and skilled people of all kinds presents our culture with one of its greatest challenges. During your lifetimes, your knowledge and skills will have to be supplemented in many ways, both through formal and informal means. You will need to keep learning. We hope that in due time, you will join the ranks of those adults who understand the problem of improving educational opportunity in our country and that you will support movements toward the end. Our sincerest wish for your success and happiness accompany you as you leave Grove City Area High Sincere congratulations to you for completing your high school career. During these school years you have learned the necessity for co-operation, perseverance, independence, and a willingness to accept responsibility. May the lessons and the skills developed during your school days be ever helpful to you. 8

LANGUAGES Communicating with others is the primary purpose of learning a language. Words and their usage change even while we are writing and talking. New words are constantly appearing and old ones are dying out. Words for expressing yourself are found by visiting new places, meeting new people, and reading books, magazines and newspapers. Language has through the years always posed a social barrier that only study and patience can cleave. To understand better the problems of our ever shrinking world, the Grove City schools have provided an opportunity for developing linguistic achievement, and to create an appreciation of customs throughout the world. Languages offered are English, Latin, French, and Spanish.
