Oil City-The Grovers traveled to Oil City for their second game of the year. After a shaky start the Eagles played inspired ball but it wasn't enough to bear a big Oil City team. The final score was Oil City 27, Eagles 12. Butler-The Eagles played host to a strong But- ler eleven for their third game of the new sea- son. Although completely outclassed, the Grov- ers played hard but to no avail, losing to a score of 40 to O. Brookfield-After losing several of the first string players in the Butler game the Eagles came back fighting hard. They played one of their better games of the season at Brookfield, but, die to bad breaks were beaten by a strong Warrior team, 21 to 7. Mercer-Our inspired eagles rose after four set- backs to lay a victory at the feet of Homecoming Queen Margie Shafer, by defeating the Mercer Mustangs by a score of 12 to 6. Franklin-Locking for their second win of the season, Grove City played host to the Hickory Hornets. This game was very evenly matched, with neither team being able to score frequently. The final score was a deadlock, 6 to 6. Greenville-In the next game the Eagles trav- eled to Greenville where they met one of the toughest teams in the county. Looking for an up- set the Eagles fought very hard. But the oppon- ents proved too strong and fast for the Eagles and they went down to defeat at the hands of the Trojans 40 to 0. Sharpsville--In the next to the last game, the Eagles traveled to Sharpsville. Here everybody again fought very hard, but the Eagles just couldn't get started and lost to the Blue Devils 31 to 6. Hickory-On November 7 the Eagles took the field for the last time and played host to Hickory. Playing under very cold weather the iniured and rattled Eagles played almost evenly with the big Hickory Hornets.
