Student Council The Student Council was organized in the fall of 1941 for the purpose of giving pupils as many privileges and as much authority as possible in efficiently directing the activities of the school. Because of the Student Council, each pupil has more voice in the scholastic government. Each homeroom chose a member to meet with Mr. Beebe for the dis- cussion of school problems and improvements. There were ten members in all. This year the Student Council directed the allocation of funds raised by the fall Magazine Drive. A new radio-phonograph combination was purchased with a portion of the proceeds, and further activities were suc- cessfully completed. 32

Honor Society This year the Honor Society has certainly accomplished its purpose by making it a banner year as far as the organizations activities are concerned. It has sponsored popular Stamp Dances to promote the sale of Government War Savings Stamps. It aided the American Legion in locating and collecting the tons of scrap metal and rubber which was gathered earlier this year. The money which was received from the sale of this scrap was used to erect a memorial plaque to the young men in the armed services from this town. ' But the outstanding project of the Honor Society has been the weekly sale of War Stamps in the new and old buildings of the school. Enough stamps have been sold to purchase two ambulances, which should aid a great deal in the war effort. The Society established a new precedent by initiating new members of the Society in the latter part of April. This action was designed to simplify the laying of next year's plans. The president of the organization left for the armed services before his term expired and was succeeded by the vice-president. PRESIDENT .............. ........
