J osephine Walpole The Junior Class was organized in September, 1942, and despite the fact that a Washington trip seemed hopeless, the members carried on with the majority of the traditional activities in the usual manner. Mr. Kenneth Miller, the homeroom teacher, supervised the class meetings and advised the students on matters of importance. Several dances were held during the ensuing year, and the Junior Class activities came to a fabulous close with the Junior Prom, the social event of the season. 28

Bennett Frances Dempsey Mary Jane Conger Vernon Metzgar Robert Maricle Bernice Rankin Ruth Stull Room 17 Mary Walpole Carl Hillyard Flora Wood Richard Smith This past year the Sophomore Class consisted of approximately forty- Hve members. These students were separated into three different rooms: Homeroom 11, under the supervision of Miss Austin, Homeroom 15, Miss Carpenter, and Homeroom 17, Mr. Deller. In the early fall, the class sponsored a recorder dance which was very successful. The entire proceeds were turned over to the United Service Organization. 29
