Should l continue my education? Should l enter the business world? Should I become a homemaker? Should I Your contact with Groton High has given you a knowledge of the sublect matter needed to fulfill your future desires laid the foundation on which to build and given guidance and direction as to a sense of moral values that are essential to upright and worthy citizenship. When future decisions are made as to whether it is to be, or is not to be, may the guiding principles affecting the solu- tion to your problem be based upon moral and ethical prin- ciples that will show to the world that your background in- cludes a set of standards that will do credit to yourselves, your parents, and the school from which you have graduated. The Soca-Hula-Hop , a dance held on October 3, 1958, a toy party, and the Junior-Senior basketball game. All of these activities have provided a lot of good entertainment for all. The Junior Class is now looking forward to their Prom which is expected to be the biggest event of the year. The dance was proven to be a great success and a large profit was made. During the month of November we sponsored the Thanksgiving assembly and Rev. Calihan from West Groton was the guest speaker. Later in the year under the supervision of Mr. Har- graves the class had a skating party and a food sale, These proved to be a great success and a large profit was made at the food sale. The group presented its two annual programs, the Christmas Cantata and the Spring Music Festival. ln January the chorus participated in the one-hundred seventy-five voice Wachusett Regional Chorus as part of the music festival held for the first time at Lunenburg High School. The cheerleaders under the supervision of Mrs. Ovitt had a very successful and busy year. We started our season with a pep rally led by our leader and captain, Jerry DiNatale. Under her excellent leadership we developed a peppy, cooperative cheerleading team which included our mascot, Candy Ovitt, who participated in many more cheers this year. Nancy Morse represented our squad at the All-Star Game held at Fort Devens. Our group also participated in the cheerleading tournament at Ashby. Our biggest thrill was cheering for our girls varsity in the preliminary game at the Boston Garden. For the second year, the cheerleaders led the Groton High School Band in the Memorial Day parade.
