The undefeated Grossmont .l.V.'s vvon the league championship for the second year in a rovv. They vvon nine straight games and outscored their opponents 228 to 45. The defense held opponents to a mere five point average per game with some teams capable of acquiring only a fevv first downs. The Grossmont J. V. offense averaged 27 points per game, exhibiting a balanced passing and running attack. Gary Stovall frequently completed crucial passes to Dave Arnston and Bruce lVIclVlulIen, vvhile Dave lllledigovich and Phil Allen constantly carried the ball for long gains. Standouts in the rugged aggressive line were Frank Proctor, Floger Burger, Dave Waasted, Bill Julian, Steve Baker, and Dick Thorne. Although the Hillers have been hindered by stiff league competition, Coach Baer feels that the team should finish strong on the legs of such runners as Bob Sturtevant, John Baum, John Guzzo, Craig Lashmet, and Brad Nelson.
