In the Grossmont High School offices, a constant stream of traffic runs its way in and out of the Attendance Office where the staff makes out the absences and keeps all attend- ance records for over 2,600 students. A friendly word and quick service are given to all Foothillers who come here. The Business Office keeps the financial accounts and sup- ervises the business proceedings and countless other jobs of a student body needing books, athletic uniforms, classroom supplies and ASB budgetings of various sorts. ln the Reception Office, Mrs. West keeps busy running the switchboard, answering Grossmonters' ques- tions at every turn, making change for stamps or emergency phone calls, and receiving visi- tors, students and public alike with a ready smile. Whenever a student needs friendly advice or assistance, the first place he heads for is the Counseling Office, where he is greeted by patient and understanding Mrs. Smith, the Counseling Secretary. Here, the class counselors help students fill out pro- grams, decide vocations, and assist in the countless problems, personal and otherwise, that confront pupils each day. These men and women have put their time and energies into the service of our school, often getting little recognition and lots of grief. Among many other problems is that of Grossmont's finances, each member of the staff contributes his efficiency, and the budgeting is wisely and effectively accomplished throughout the year.

Attractive grounds and buildings are proof of our custodians' and groundsmen's efficiency, Each morn- ing the campus is spotless, and not many schools can boast such beautiful flowers or shrubs and such stately trees. The bus drivers put many long hours into driving the pupils to and from school, some coming from outlying areas as far away as 30 miles, The efficient cafe- teria staff handles the big job of keeping hungry students fed, Among the many appetizing dishes prepared are spaghetti, stew, pies, cakes and salads, In the cafeteria, many students lend a helping hand. The place to buy your school supplies, and a popular place to congre- gate, is in the Student Exchange under the able and friendly direction of Mom Sherman. There you will find everything from paper clips to Junior rings. Custodians Groundsmen Bus Drivers
