Cooke, adviser, Bob Moore, editor-in-chief, Stanley Clark, production manager, and Elsie Gough, managing editor, Foothill Echoesn during the year 1936-37 underwent many changes in pattern, but kept to the upgrade in journalistic endeavor and the aim of boosting Grossmont and presenting news accurately and completely. Changes included adaptation of three-column make-up, re-arrangement of pages to feature sports news more prominently, and the en- livening of headings and departments by the use of Twenty a Gothic-letter typewriter. Colored inks and paper were used in special editions. Editorial features were book reviews by Peggy Blodgett, Letters of a Freshman by Peggy Lou Peters, an Orchids corner where groups were commended for useful services to the school: while catchy cartoons were used throughout the publication. A box was set up in the ofhce to receive material from the students at large. For the first time, all staff members were sub- jected to a journalism test, and at the end of the year, awards were given for excellence in reporting,
