FQREWQRD EL RECUERDO-the memoryl The memory of happy C-rossmont days among our foothill environmentl The staff have wished that this year, our El Recuerdo shall symbolize for us all, and serve as a reminder in coming years, these foothills which serve as the background for our school, the source of the term by which we are known to our friends, the picturesque approach to the heights of life which a school ideally should be. And so, long years after your high school days are over, when they are left to you only in mem- ory, may this book bring back a little of the inspiration which your Foothill days gave you, with their crowded schedule of friends, activi- ties, and experiences.

Heading one of the most necessary and useful depart- ments in Grossmont High School, this teacher has served in never-failing devotion to the success of Gross- mont and Grossmont students, holding up the ideals of our school, helping to preserve present traditions and to institute new ones.
