Stanley Cox, M. D. They have an aim, a purpose, a plan and an ideal toward which they are striving and have accomplished much. Upon their shoulders rests a great part of the worry and responsibility of building a school system. We have faith in their ability and wisdom of their council. Seldom are found exemplified in one body all the finer virtues—work above and beyond the call of duty, with complete disregard for personal welfare, achievements accomplished for the good of the school. In appreciation of their loyal support, patient service and untiring efforts given for the well being and promotion of our school, we with confidence and pride dedicate the 10th edition of “The Taog“ 1947 to them. Faculty and Student Body Groesbeck High School Taog Staff, Class Sponsors, and Friends: Each passing year brings us joy in the accomplishments of the Senior Class. In the production of this Annual you have kept the high standard set by your predecessors. You have approached the goal. May I remind you that Thomas Carlyle once wrote, “The man without a purpose is like a ship without a rudder - a waif, a nothing, a no man. Have a purpose in life, and having it, throw such strength of mind and muscle into your work as God has given you. Sincerely your friend, As a past faculty member of Groesbeck Public Schools, I should like to say that my associations with the superintendent, teachers, and pupils have broadened my life into a fuller and richer one, and this School will always hold a dear and warm spot in my life. To the pupils: ‘We know that the hills of tomorrow are waiting for you, A little bit farther to go, And as you stand on the peaks of to-day A glimpse of their beauty you’ll know. The blessings you shall receive; the goals you shall reach. If only you will just keep on the way.” When we come to the end of another school year, there is a strange mingling of dreams and realities. There has also been a blending of joys and sorrows that you will cherish for many years. It is my sincere desire that through your association with your teachers and class mates that you have received something that will carry you forward to a successful and happy future. I believe that there is as much art in making a barren home into a glistening comfortable home as there is in painting a picture or writing a poem. I believe that there is dignity and beauty in service, that as a career for women, homemaking offers greater opportunity for leisure, for growth of mind and spirit, for exercise of the body, than any other occupation. I believe that one who has the intelligence to keep her own house in order is wise enough to be a force in any community. It is my desire to be one of the countless women of the world to make life sweeter and better because I live and do my work well. Home. Economics TX Clo 1 n (dome.
