TO THE GRADUATING CLASS OF T956 The year T956 marks a vital stepping stone in your young careers. lt signifies the embarcation of a group of emigrants on a ship destined for foreign lands, and adven- ture in search of places full of hope, pro- mise, satisfaction, and anticipation. The completion of your four years at Griswold High School is behind you, your whole future before you. Your knowledge and information as well as characteristics devel- oped during the past four years will help you guide and steer your future course. As you embark on your vessel of des- tiny, you will look back on the land you leave with a feeling of satisfaction that you have mastered its problems and solved its difficulties. You will look back and reflect on the pleasant memories and the friends you are now preparing to leave. You will more closely observe the corners you have cut, the omissions you have made, and de- tect the errors which you have committed. You will note all these things with one quick panoramic mental view of your edu- cational experiences at Griswold High dur- ing the past four years. You now become the captain of your ship. You are prepared to steer a straight and proper course over the sea of life. You will find ahead of you a number of stormy as well as calm seas which at present seem too distant and with which you are not concerned When storm warnings ap proach you as captain of your ship con BOARD OF EDUCATION trol its safety and destiny as you guide it through rough waters. Your past know- ledge, information, and experiences will help you steer your ship. Your ultimate success greatly depends on your past pre- paration, your determination and strength to meet all obstacles during your period of trial and your daring to meet the hard- ships ahead. Your foresight, imagination, ambition, understanding, patience, perseverance, and application to the task at hand will always see you through. Have courage, hope, and faith, for the stormy seas will subside and calmness will eventually rule the sea and as the peace- ful waters settle, you will sail on and on and on.
