TRACK Although the season is not as yet under way, it looks as though the Green and White will prove dominant in most, if not all, the meets this year. The Class of '54 has had more than its share of athletes out for every sport this year, and track has proved to be no exception. Out of the fifteen boys coming out for track this year, ten are seniors. On the track we have such veteran runners as: Norm Coutu, john Ilewicz, joe DeLorge, jerry Moskowitz, Cliff Green, and Ronnie Gwiazdowskig while in the field we have Leo Ahola, Will Gero, Keith Thornton, and john McNally. Two members of the team from the Class of '54 at present hold school records. They are Norm Coutu and jerry Moskowitz, who hold the records in the mile and 220 yard dash respectively. This year's track and cross country teams were under the capable instruction and leadership of Mr. Herve Loiselle. NEW ENGLAND CHAMP Reino Suokas is the pride and joy of the Griswold High School track teams. This tall, lanky Finn has received many ribbons and medals for his outstanding feats in the field of track. Reino placed first in the Killingly Invitational, all of the Quinebaug Valley Meets, and the State Meet, just to mention a few. His high school career came to a climax when he took first place for the javelin in the New England lnterscholastic Meet at Boston. Remo SUOKAS
