They present it to the public hoping that all who chance to read will find in it pleasant reminders of their own ad- ventures in the halls of learning. DEDHGATHCODN i s . 1 i e We, the Class of 1955, are happy to dedicate this, our annual, to our sponsor, Mr. Anderson. During his thirty-two years in Griswold High, Mr. Anderson has been a loyal mentor in the classroom and has been ever ready to help with any of the activities of the school. Our memories of him will always be among the most cherished recollections of our high school days. at q 3 ,J . Annual Staff Editor-In-Chief. . ...... . . Assistant Editor . . Publicity Director . . Of the teachers, friends, and all the fun That came with all the things we've done. These never seemed so good 'til now As we must make a parting vow To cherish through the coming years, The joys, not heartaches, smiles, not tears That came with work and came with play-- With contests, banquets, tasks each day, Throughout the high school days just past We've gained knowledge that will last. But this is not our schooling's end, This is where we just intend To continue onward toward success As we leave the halls of G. H. PONTIUS we leave all our ideas of what an ideal school should be. TO MR . LOVELACE we leave all the Mickey Spillane books he collected during the past year. He should have quite a library. TO MISS DAFT we leave an automatic note writer . We think it will save her some time. TO MR. VANDERBUR we leave all the dirt we have tracked into the schoolhouse for soil tests. TO MR. ANDERSON we leave an electric brain that will not only care for the innumerable details of planning an annual, but will also trim and paste in the pictures. TO MR. JOINER we leave a tonic to restore his gray hair to its original color. Better be careful, Mr. Joiner, or you may run out of tonic. The Senior homemaking girls leave their knitting ability to MRS. Our local projects include: Wearing costumes and flags on United Nations Day, having numerous entries in the local achievement show sponsored by the Vocational Agriculture and Home Economics Departments, sponsoring Good Posture Week , making joke books for the Veterans' Hospitals, sending Christmas gifts to a poor faniily in Omaha, helping with the Ladies' Night School, cleaning the high school trophy case, and making a float for the Old Soldiers Reunion Parade. Our social activities include: Freshman initiation, F.H.A. and F.F.A. Christmas party, roller skating party, mother-daughter tea, and various holiday parties. Our main goal for the year was to earn enough money to buy a pickup. We had our first parent-son banquet and awarded letters for the first time. We took in three adult honorary members and two of our members were district officers. Our chapter made great progress in all phases of our work during the year. f 4' I ,J ax as NEW , u .
